MLA Senthil Balaji Inspects Karur Bus Stand Work, Assures Completion in 30 Days

MLA V. Senthil Balaji visited the ongoing construction site of Karur’s new integrated bus terminal at Thirumanilaiyur and announced that the project will be completed within the next 30 days. The visit highlights the government’s commitment to fast-tracking key infrastructure works across the district.

The ₹40 crore modern bus stand project has reached nearly 80% completion and is expected to be one of the most well-equipped terminals in the region once operational.
Key Features of the Upcoming Terminal
The bus stand is being developed with modern amenities to ease traffic congestion and improve public transport efficiency in Karur. It includes:
68 bus bays
82 commercial shops
64 clean and accessible public restrooms
A large food court
Vehicle parking facilities
A police outpost for public safety
The terminal will serve as a major transit point for commuters and long-distance travelers alike.
Senthil Balaji’s Remarks During the Inspection
Speaking to the media during the site visit, MLA Senthil Balaji said,
“The new bus stand is a long-awaited project for Karur. We’ve ensured the work is progressing on time, and the public can expect it to be fully functional within a month. This facility will not only improve passenger convenience but also boost local trade.”
Broader Infrastructure Projects in Progress
Senthil Balaji also provided updates on other major development projects in the district, including:
₹700 crore Karur Outer Ring Road, connecting Erode Road to Manmangalam and Salem NH to Nerur
Government Agricultural College in Manavasi (₹76 crore project)
SIPCOT Industrial Park on 250 acres in Kadavur (proposal submitted)
Moringa Processing Park at Aravakurichi on 6 acres
₹800 crore Urban Civic Upgrade including drainage and water supply
Nerur–Unniyur Bridge, nearing completion within the next month
